| What's your favourite type of riding? |
Got to say, in Wales! But having ridden all over the UK have yet
to find the
diversity and scenery that Wales has to offer.
Prefer the epic rides as opposed to the short, sharp,
shock treatment! |
| |
| What bike do you ride? |
| Presently riding a Kona Dawg Dee-lux which has
kindly been donated by Kona and Summit Cycles in
Machynlleth. First time on a full bouncer and am
extremely impressed with its performance. Looking
forward to putting it through its paces, when I
get the time to get out on the thing of course!!!.

| Where's your favourite trail in Wales and why? |
Has to be the Llwybr Syfydrin at Nant yr Arian, it's a "top
dogger!" Has
everything a X country ride can offer, from tight
technical singletrack to
the wide open, exposed riding to be found across
the Welsh moorlands. Those of you who haven't given
it a go yet, I suggest you do. Promise you won't
be disappointed! |
|
| Whats your Mountain Magazine of choice? |
Got to be careful on this one! Let's just say they all have something
good
to offer. |

| What's been your worst wipeout and what where the resultant injuries? |
30mph, hit a patch of sandstone at an angle.
Next thing I knew on top of my bike after slapping
the floor with both hands. Jumped back on, carried
on with the ride then realised I couldn't shift
gear with my thumb. Hospital,
x-rayed only to find I had shattered my scafoid
in the right hand. 3 months
later out of plaste and unable to bend my wrist,
took me a full twelve
months to fully recover all movement. we live and
learn!!! |

| What's your background? |
MTBing since 1988. started own mtb instruction courses in 1998 teaching
skills and techniques of the sport. Worked on trail
team in CYB for a couple of Winter seasons which
gave me an excellent grounding in trail building
and design techniques. Missed most of 2004 season
due to involvement with BBC documentary about high
altitude mountaineering so unfortunately had to
stop running courses. Applied for rangers job and
fortunately was offered the position and began work
in November. |
| |
| How would you describe your job? |
Forests, mountains, trails, most fun you'll have with your clothes
on!!
Seriously though have yet to get out on my bike
due to workload, so all of
you out there who think it's a doddle riding the
trails all day, think
again!
