The fastest way for southern riders to get their fix
of Wales’s legendary all weather singletrack and
serious DH action, Cwm Carn is less
than half an hour from the Severn bridge.
Winding up the waterside technical singletrack of the
Whyte bikes sponsored Twrch
trail with only your breathing, the babbling
of the stream and the hum of tyres as a soundtrack,
you’d never realise you were minutes from the
motorway and the heavy industry heartland of South Wales.
The wild contouring singletrack, rolling and sweeping
in and out of forests and vertical valleys sides will
keep you totally focused on the trail, but stop and
you be looking right out over the Bristol Channel.
The whooped up final descent will push most riders to
their limit but Cwm Carn is also the ultimate park and
play centre for serious gravity slaves.
The Mynydd
Mojo DH track is unique in the UK for offering
a year round uplift service (details at www.cwmdown.co.uk).
There’s a purpose built freeride play park, full
of jump packs, berms, wall rides and even a complete
corkscrew for getting your eye in before hitting the
full descent too.
By 2008 the site will have a new all singing, all dancing
visitor centre, café and viewing station too,
so please excuse us the temporary facilities currently
available.
