MBWales - New Trail Sections Open - Afan Forest Park

New and improved sections of mountain bike trail are now open in Afan Forest Park and Cwmcarn as part of Cognation mtb trails South Wales.

The new sections of trail in Afan Forest Park named Alpha, Elevator and Omega are all part of the popular Y WÂl trail and will create excitement amongst the mountain biking community. In Cwmcarn, Airstream 1 and 2 on the Twrch Trail have been improved as well as new sections of Y Mynydd downhill trail. Cognation mtb trails South Wales is investing in mountain biking across South Wales and this is one of its first improvements to both trail centres.

The project is a partnership between Neath Port Talbot CBC, Caerphilly CBC, Merthyr Tydfil CBC and Forestry Commission Wales. It is part-funded by the EU's Convergence European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government with match funding coming from the Welsh Government and partner organisations.
