Dragon DH runs out of steam
Gravity addicts lose out as legendarily fiery Dragon DH series is cancelled. Citing continuing, ahem 'liaison dificulties' with organising events and sorting out cost effective transport this season and issues with trying to plan next years calendar, organiser Jason has pulled the plug. That means there's no event 5 this coming weekend and series winners will be worked out on current placings after the first 4 rounds.
This is a massive shame as the events have always been a highlight of the UK DH race season thanks to well run events on super technical courses designed and organised by a truly passionate race crew and comitted sponsors. Jason has said he may run events on the future, but it's unlikely to be on FC land unless current issues are resolved.
The one bit of good news is that there's already a big concerted effort by Dragon riders to create and organise a set of venues and races for next year. Check out the forums on
www.southerndownhill.com to get involved. Obviously we'll let you know ASAP here if a new series or races appear.
For the moment though, thanks to Jason from all the Dragon racers and other gravity riders in Wales for the masses of hard work you've put in over the years.
