New black run open and Santa Cruz demo bikes sorted too!
They`ve just had a superb write up in MBR magazine and now there`s loads more news from rapidly growing north Welsh MTB site Llandegla. Here`s the latest from Emma, Ian and Jim:
"Oneplanet Adventure, the company responsible for the facilities at the Coed Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre is making its mark on the world of mountain biking. This month they have been given an award for the ‘Best Bacon Buttie’ in Wales by BMW Good Food Ride, become the newest authorised dealer and demo centre for Santa Cruz bikes, opened 1.6km of wickedly exiting Black Run and erected the largest bird table in the world.
The centre, run by local MB enthusiasts Ian Owen and Jim Gaffney, has been open a year, and its proved to be a very successful one. This is most likely due to their determination to deliver a quality product. All the food served in the café is from local suppliers, the bacon is from M E Evans a butcher in Wrexham Meat Market and baps from The Village Bakery in Coedpoeth. They believe that hearty food doesn’t have to be stodgy and as such produce food which their customers love.
The addition of Santa Cruz to their current quality bike brands Kona and Cove is testament to their success. The staff are friendly, stock is well displayed and prices competitive so its worth a look if you are looking for a piece of kit any time soon.
The new black run was built by the MB Long Jump World Record Holder and it makes for an exhilarating ride. Check out the helmet cam video`s here if you need proof - www.coedllandegla.com/news-and-events.htm. Its popularity becomes obvious when you take a peek at the comments book in the centre, it makes for an interesting read and is full of praise for new trail.
The RSPB work in close partnership with the centre and have chosen Llandegla to erect the largest bird table in the world. The forest attracts all kinds of birds including the rare Black Grouse, it’s for this reason that the RSPB invested time, money and resource to raise awareness of the local wildlife.
