With two new Rangers saddling up in North and South Wales this week we've suddenly got a load of on site information coming in. To keep it simple here's a round up of diversions and ongoing work at the Welsh MTB sites.
Starting at Coed Y Brenin the "Beginning of the end" section is closed to repair top section erosion. Andy tells us "The building work is going well and it's looking pretty good. We're building some features into it that should make it lots of fun to ride. Hopefully it should be completed in two weeks time and I can't wait to ride it!
However quite a few of the trails use this section. So the short Temptiwr trail is temporarily closed and the 'MBR', 'Dragon's Back' and 'Beast' are diverted.' The 'Tarw' trail also has a diversion due to felling, but luckily you don't miss out on any of the sublime singletrack."
Down South, there are thinning operations on the Red Route at Brechfa throughout the summer, so pay attention to any Forestry signage. Trees are coming out at Afan too, which means the Joyrider and Fast Forward sections of the Skyline will be closed to the end of August. Carl promises us there's some nice new bits of natural trail built into the diversion so you're not missing out much. There are also closures of the Skyline on the 18th of July and 15th of August, plus a diversion on the White's Level trail on the second date.
Still hundreds of kms of unaffected trails to have a go at though, so get stuck in!
