Our Welsh woods need you!
The woods and forests of Wales are far more than just timber factories now, they also play a really important environmental and recreational role. With that in mind Forestry Commission Wales are updating their 50 year strategic plan for trees and woodlands and they want feedback from you as forest users.
There's no doubt mountain biking has become a far more significant aspect of forestry use in Wales than even the most optimistic trailbuilders would have thought a decade ago. With people like first minister Rhodri Morgan visiting Coed Y Brenin last month to see how much MTBing is bringing into local economies, it's not just us riders who think it's important.
Anyway you can find the current strategy, consultation document and response form at
www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-7GDE7A and if enough of us spend a few minutes this afternoon we could really get mountain bikes established as a key part of Welsh forestry planning all the way to 2051.
