Sorry if you've been clicking this headline and wondering where the words had gone, but the back end of this particular horse fell over for a while.
In true Panto fashion it's behind you now though. Labouring the theme a bit further we'll spilt this into two teams, goodies and baddies:
The good news is that MTB Ranger Carl Denham has let us know the Fast Forward and Joyrider sections of trail at Afan Argoed are now re opened and running well after recent timber operations.
Unfortunately the Baddies (boo, hiss etc.) have teamed up with the recent ugly weather to cause a fair bit of disruption. Up at Coed y Brenin overflow from a blocked culvert has ripped a big hole in False Teeth on the MBR. A landslide looks to have blocked one of the final singletrack sections at Penmachno too. With local rivers still running very high the advice is to give the area a raincheck until the floodwaters subside enough for our resident Noah, Ranger Andy Braund to send a dove out.
As of this week (20th November) the MBR and Beast routes will also be closed for a couple of months while felling and rebuilding work takes place.
There's also still work going on around Handy Andy and Grand Canyon on the Skyline at Afan though so expect diversions. The Italian Job at Nant Yr Arian is also currently shut on weekdays but open on weekends.
We'll keep you up to date with any more storm damage/repair reports as we get them, but if anyone is out riding and spots anything get in touch with Andy up north or Carl down south on the FE number (0845 6040845).
