Created with hikers and bikers in mind, the Roost is a small glamping site with comfy cabins, campervan spaces and facilities where you can let the outside in. Located on the Taff Trail, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and just a short ride from BikePark Wales.
Our four warm, cosy cabins have comfy, big (4ft) bunks and a ‘porch’ storage area where you can hang up bikes and stash your gear. Its glamping where we don’t mind a bit of mud.
There’s a well-equipped, shared, inside-outside kitchen where you can roll the walls up or down according to the weather. With the walls rolled up, the kitchen and dining area extends out on to a decked area with views over the hills, letting the outside in. There’s also a shared BBQ and fire pit.
The three shared shower rooms have lovely hot showers, loos that flush with rainwater and all the essentials.
The hiker and biker friendly site also has a drying room, bike wash, secure gated parking and Wi-Fi.
The Roost sits above the village of Troedyrhiw which has a train station (connecting to Merthyr Tydfil, Barry Island, Bridgend and Cardiff) and local amenities.
