Llys-y-Frân Outdoor Activity Centre

About

Located in the stunning Pembrokeshire countryside, Llys-y-Frân occupies 350 acres of woodland, grassland and farmland with a stunning lake in the centre. The reservoir dam was built in 1972 to provide clean water to Pembrokeshire, but it also preserved the landscape for wildlife and nature.

Llys-y-Frân site underwent an impressive redevelopment and opened a brand-new expanded visitor centre and outdoor activity centre in June 2021. Activities introduced on site are archery, axe throwing, climbing wall, watersports, bike hub, pump track & skills track, and two outstanding mountain bike trails, graded green, blue and red with 12 graded sections.

Green sections: swooping and flowing surfaced singletrack with some berms and optional jumps.
Blue sections: surfaced singletrack with some optional red sections.
Red sections: some testing climbs and steep descents with some on natural terrain. Tabletops, rock gardens and steep berms feature regularly.

Skills Area & Pump Track:

An enclosed mountain bike skills area, designed for all ages to get active outdoors.
We have included a smooth tarmac pump track to help beginners master the skill of maintaining momentum without having to pedal.
It also has various jumps, bridges, and rock features to get the adrenaline pumping.
Whatever level you’re at, it is purpose built to help improve your skills and increase your confidence, from beginner to pro. Free to use.

Facilities:

Our bike hub is located at the outdoor activity centre, where you’ll find changing rooms, lockers, toilets and showers. There is a bike wash station and bike tools to enable riders to make repairs on site. Mountain bike hire is available, we have a range of sizes from children to adult bikes.

Parking is just £3 per car all day and this income contributes to the upkeep of the mountain bike trails, ensuring they are kept to the highest standard and future riders can enjoy them.

Within Llys-y-Frân Visitor Centre you’ll find a gift shop, toilets, reception with friendly staff and Lakeside Café. Open every day, the cafe provides hungry riders with delicious snacks, meals and a variety of hot and cold drinks. There is ample indoor seating, plus outdoor seating on the balcony that sweeps around the centre.
